As part of The Doyle Collection, a family-owned Irish luxury hotel group with a 60-year heritage, The Kensington has now reopened with a brand new suite offering, boasting elegant design aimed to transport guests from the urban cityscape of London to the excitement and romance of the Exotic Orient.
Situated in the heart of South Kensington, where Queensgate meets the Old Brompton Road, The Kensington comprises four Victorian townhouses and is more akin to a beautifully appointed private residence than a traditional hotel.
An increased interest from long-stay guests with a need for a London base highlighted the importance for comfort and functionality within the suites. With this in mind, the layout of a selection of the suites has been reconfigured to enhance the feeling within each space of a luxurious and carefully curated home, using elements and original features of the townhouse to shape the redesign.
Created in collaboration with London design studio Timothy Mather, the refreshed and elegant design concept is the vision of Bernie Gallagher, Chairman of The Doyle Collection and daughter of PV Doyle, founder of the eponymous hotel group. Leading The Doyle Collection’s in-house design team, Mrs. Gallagher is personally invested in the character and interiors of every property – suffusing each landmark hotel with a unique sense of style and place in their local community.
