Ace Hotel Sydney is our homage to the interlocking parts that occupy and imbue the neighborhood of Surry Hills. A composition of culture, people and ideas, Surry Hills sprouted up from the grit and grog of the turn of the century, a nexus for possibility and future-forward thinking.

Housed in the historic Tyne Building, our 257-room hotel was designed to reflect the warm, cinematic color palette of its surroundings. It draws inspiration from a shape-shifting diorama of sources, like salvaged heritage doors repurposed from the original building, a reminder of history layered into the ever-evolving present. Nestled against the edge of the CBD, it’s all just moments from Central Station, which can take you just about anywhere you want to go.

From the Lobby up to the 18th floor, Ace Sydney is a culinary odyssey crowned by Kiln, the rooftop restaurant and bar led by Chef Beau Clugston, who embodies the conviction that hyperlocal, hyper seasonal whole foods prepared by Australian fire-driven techniques bring out the country’s best. LOAM, on the ground floor, is a neighborhood spot for natural fare that’s heavy on flavor and light on the conscience. Our sunken Lobby lounge is a good place to sink in with a craft cocktail and a snack, so is Good Chemistry — an airy laneway cafe where breakfast bites and afternoon coffee ease into a glass of wine with friends as evening approaches.

At every turn, guests encounter our kaleidoscopic collection of contemporary Australian art. Vivid compositions from Surry Hills locals like Brett Whitely, handmade art from collectives like the Women’s Domestic Needlework Group and screen-printed pieces from the Earthworks Poster Collective all blend and reflect the verve of the city outside.
